Landscaping

I finally got around to taking a few pictures of our recently completed lanscaping project. These are only pictures of the front of the house because I was too lazy to walk around the whole house and it would of been very repetitive because it all looks the same.

New Shoes

I'm addicted to shoes...I always have been. Well let me rephrase that...I'm addicted to shopping for ANYTHING in general. This past weekend I found the two most amazing pairs of shoes ever!! ( I'm in LOVE with both pairs!) I thought I would show everyone just how cute they are!!

Milestones and a Bumbo Chair...

Layne has been a busy boy lately! He's holding his head up like a pro and on Friday he grabbed a rattle and shook it all on his own. ( He's very proud of himself...He gets the biggest grin on his face when he grabs the rattle now!) Layne also loves being in his Bumbo chair. Yesterday he sat in it and played for 45 minutes before he started fussing. He's getting to be such a big boy!! (Note- He is not naked in this picture he just doesnt have a shirt on because he got too hot in the outfit I had him in..)

A long days work....

I don't know what was with all the daycare kids today. They sure were naughty!!! Jack was into kicking and biting. He also discovered that if he takes some of the toy buckets out of the closet that he can crawl into the closet and hide. I had to crawl into the closet after him a few times!! Tyler would not listen at all today. He especially wanted nothing to do with cleaning up. Instead he tackled Jack and kicked him in the nose. He got a long time out for that one! I absolutely love doing daycare but it's almost hard to believe how naughty these kids can be sometime! On another note, Layne is getting pictures taken tomorrow! I'll post some of his pictures once I get them back. I know they are just going to be adorable!

Organizing My Life...

The past couple of weeks I've spent time trying to organize everything...from the house to how I do things in general. I've come up with the idea of making a menu plan each week so that I don't waste so much time trying to figure out what to make every night for supper. Since I started this blog I thought I would share my menu plan for the week.

Here it is:

Monday- Beef Taco Bake
Tuesday- Scalloped Potatos and Ham
Wednesday-Savory Pot Roast
Thursday- Chili
Friday- Ravioli Lasagna
Saturday- (lunch)- Taco Baked Potatos
(dinner)-Sloppy Joes and Cheddary Pouch Potatos
Sunday- (lunch)- Homemade Pizza
(dinner) Chicken Noodle Soup

Planning what I'm going to cook every week helps me keep better track of what I need at the grocery store. Then I'm not running around the store trying to figure out what I need. Needless to say it makes shopping a lot faster which is a good thing since I absolutely hate grocery shopping!! I've also started using the online bill pay system that my bank has to pay all of our bills. Let me tell you it is amazing!! So much quicker than having to make tons of phone calls to pay all of the bills. If anyone wants any of my recipes just let me know and I will gladly give them to you. I'm also open to any new recipes so if anyone has any good ones let me know...

Layne has a girl friend!!

Today at daycare Layne was busy, busy, busy. He spent sometime playing on the floor trying to hold his head up as well as trying to roll over. Layne also played with some rings. He just started holding onto toys and playing with them. He is still trying to figure out the grabbing part. Layne also spent sometime this afternoon playing with his friend Aubree. Aubree is a little over a year old. ( She turned one a few days after Layne was born.) She just adores Layne. They were holding hands for a little while but by the time I got the camera out they stopped doing it.

"Look at me! I'm using both my hands!"

Thank God for the Skid Steer....

This weekend we spent it landscaping around the house. ( Or should I say Matt spent the weekend landscaping...I spent it watching Layne and doing laundry.) If it wasn't for the skid steer we rented Sunday afternoon, the landscaping would NOT be done. The landscaping turned out great!! I will post a picture of it later for everyone to see... Matt and Layne in the skid steer.

Charlie Wilson's War

I watched this movie on Friday night. I wasn't sure if I would like it but I did. I'm not very fond of political movies but this one kept my attention. Tom Hanks was really good in it. The only thing I didn't understand was who Julia Roberts character was supposed to be. All in all this was a good movie about a true event that I knew nothing about till I watched the movie.

Sunday Fun or maybe not so fun...

We are in the process of landscaping around the house. Let me tell you it is alot of work, even if I haven't helped a whole lot. (Someone has to watch Layne.) Anyways this morning I thought I'd bring Layne outside for a little bit while Matt was getting ready to start working on the landscaping.
Matt took a little break to pose for this picture with Layne. Aren't they cute? They almost have matching sunglasses.

He's trying to be just like daddy! So cute!!

Hopefully we won't be landscaping forever...as we have other projects to work on too, like finishing our bathroom that is torn up.

Daddy loves Layne

Matt is such a good dad with Layne. He loves holding Layne. (except when he's crying) He helps out at night with him. ( that is if it's before 12:30. we do shifts.) And will even changed diapers. Although it is quite the production. lol Matt loves when Layne cracks big smiles at him when he's done something stupid.

Matt and Layne playing hide and seek...they didn't know I was taking a picture. lol

All tuckered out after drinking a bottle.

Daycare

Layne has been going to daycare since he was 6 weeks old. At first he had to adjust to all the noise and was extremely curious with what was going on. ( he didn't sleep at all the first day. he stayed up from 6am till 5pm!!) Now he has adjusted much better to daycare and enjoys it alot. His days consist of sleeping, watching the kids playing, playing on the floor with Jack and Aubree, sleeping, going outside to get kids on the bus, and listening to mommy and grandma yelling at the other kids. lol

All tuckered out from playing with Jack....

GGMA

I'm very fond of my grandma. She's been a major part of my life since I can remember. She used to babysit me when I was little, drove me and my friends to school, took me on trips with her, etc. I love her to death and am so glad that she can be apart of Layne's life as well. Today Layne got to see his Great Grandma and it almost brought me to tears with how precious he was being around her. He was cracking the biggest smiles and laughing at her when she'd make faces at him. It was truly amazing...

Layne Matthew..

Layne Matthew was born on July 15, 2008 at 2:55pm. He weighed 7lbs 60z and was 20.25 inches long.

Labor started after my water broke when I woke up that morning at 5:30. We rushed to the hospital and after being checked out in triage, we were admitted to the hospital. My goal was to have a natural labor but I had extremely painful back labor so that plan quickly changed. After receiving an epidural my labor progressed pretty fast. by 1:00 pm I was fully dilated and was ready to push. Layne was born not breathing on his own very well and had to be put in the NICU for 5 days. We are so blessed that he is finally here!!!

I'm a Newbie...

So I've been wanting to start a blog for a while now. I've just been so busy lately that I haven't had time. I have nothing going on today so I thought I'd try it out. I'll be adding pictures soon..as soon as i can find my link cord thingy for my camera.
