Bike Ride

While we were at Itasca State Park, we took a bike ride in the park. I had never been on such a long bike ride in my life!! ( We went 16 miles and we didn't even make it around the whole park!!) The first couple miles went okay until about mile 4 when my bike broke. ( My handle bar fell off...) I had to push my bike about a mile to the bike shop to go rent one to finish riding. After we rented a new bike for me, we started off again. About a mile into our bike ride again it started to pour. I have never been that drenched!!! Thank God for Layne's bike trailer. He stayed nice and dry. I would of loved to have joined him in it!! After we finished our bike ride, we dryed off and ate lunch. Then we decided to take a break from the state park and went to explore Bemidji.

He fell asleep in the trailer... So cute!!

Boat Ride on Lake Itasca

On our last full day at Itasca, we decided to rent a pontoon boat and try our hand at some fishing. Sadly we didn't catch any fish. (Only lots of grass.) But the boat ride was a lot of fun!!

The view of the headwaters from the lake.

Matt and Layne fishing.

Matt fixing one of the fishing poles.

Layne and I fishing.

My dad had never driven a boat before but got his first chance at driving one. He did a great job. Layne wanted to help drive the boat too so Grandpa let him try his hand at it.

Itasca State Park

A couple of weeks ago, we went up to Itasca State Park for a long weekend with my parents, aunt, and cousin. It was a lot of fun. Except that it rained alot while we were there.

Love this picture of the trees.

The cabin Matt, Layne and I stayed in. The second night we were there we were hearing animal noises right outside of our cabin it was kind of freaky!!

The cabin where the rest of the family stayed. Love this picture with all the trees around it!!

Weekend at the Lake

Last Weekend, we made the trip up to Lake Kampeska for the weekend. We had a lot of fun as the weather was a lot warmer than the last time we were there. Layne went on two boat rides as well as wet for a couple of swims in the lake. Matt and I went on a jetski ride and went fishing as well.

Layne playing with my sunglasses after I told him that that was a "no-no". Look at the look he is giving me!!

Layne and I taking a break from the water. (Horrible picture of me!!)

Daddy and Layne in the water. He likes swimming in pools alot better than the lake.

Some of the fish we caught. We caught 8 total. A Walleye, A Small Mouth Bass, and 6 Silver Bass.

Matt and Tater on the dock. I find this picture cool because Tater's eyes are glowing. lol

Weekend Trip to Omaha and an Update

This past weekend, Matt, Layne, and I took a quick trip down to Omaha, Ne for the weekend. We had a blast!! We stayed at Matt's cousin's Mike's house while we were down there. Saturday after we went to the zoo. Layne had so much fun. He loved looking at the water falls in the Jungle area and the sharks and stingrays in the aquarium. On Saturday night, we went out to eat at the Upstream. It's a brewery in Omaha. Matt said the beer was really good. On Sunday we went shopping at one of the malls and then went out to eat with Matt's friends, Laura and Jesse and their son Miles. ( Miles is just a few months younger then Layne.) Layne had so much fun playing with Miles. It was a much needed quick trip and we all had a blast. Now it's back to our same old routine again.

Pretty parrot that was in the jungle exhibit.

Meerkat in the desert exhibit.

Layne and Miles posing for a picture.

Layne posing for the camera while Miles tries to "taste" him. Too cute!!

Yesterday I went to the dr. office because I was having some female issues. It's nothing serious thank god. I'm on some medication for about 5 days and everything should clear up on it's own. If it doesn't I have to go back into the dr. for more testing. However the dr. thinks that the medication should do the trick. Hopefully he is right!!

Trip Back In Time: My Most Memorable Camping Experience

Within the past month, I found this great blog. I thought I would take the plunge and join in on her weekly blog carnival. One of the writing prompts this week is to describe your most memorable camping experience. Thought that would be a perfect one for me!!
When I was in elementary school, my parents took me on my first camping trip. We went camping at the lake that is right outside the town my dad grew up in. The campground was full because it was Memorial Day Weekend. ( My parents thought that would be a good time to go.) I had a blast swimming in the water and playing on the playground. The first night in the tent was okay. Not to cold or buggy. The next day, we went fishing, swimming and visited some of my dad's relatives.
That night the weather made a turn for the worse. It got extremely cold. First it started to hail and then snow!! We were not prepared for such bad weather so we had no winter clothes. We ended up spending the rest of our trip in a hotel because there was snow and ice on the ground. That was my first and last camping trip for almost 10 years!!
Two years ago, Matt and my best friend Leah went camping on Lake Pahoja. There was NO snowstorm or hail and the weather was nice and warm. A plus when you are trying to camp outside!! I was very skeptical about going camping again. I was not wanting a repeat of my first camping experience!!

I've Been Tagged...

Kacey over at Chronicles of a Mommy tagged me to do this. Here's the rules:

1- Choose the 4th file on my computer with the 4th picture.
2-Explain the 4th picture that is in that folder.
3-Tag 4 people to do the same 4-no cheating (cropping, editing, etc.)

Last year for Valentine's Day, I bought Matt and I tickets to see Ron White in Mankato, MN. ( If you couldn't tell, He's obsessed with Ron White. That's why our lab is named Tater (Tater Salad)). Besides going to Ron White we drove over to New Ulm where they have the August Schell Brewery. We took a tour of the Brewery and Matt had samples of all the different beers while I drank 1919 Root Beer. ( I was 5 months pregnant at the time.) The only real reason we know about this brewery is because of my dad. ( He grow up in a small town nearby New Ulm.) We had an awesome time and hope to go back there again sometime. Maybe then I can enjoy more than just root beer. ( The root beer was AMAZING though!!)

(Matt standing by the Schell sign.)

I haven't decided on who i'm going to tag yet just because I'm new at this thing and I haven't done one before. I'll update when I've decided who I've tagged.

Flashback...

I'm extremely sick of the cold weather and wish I could be somewhere nice and warm relaxing on a beach with a fruity drink or two. Well since that isn't going to happen anytime soon, I thought I would share some pictures of the trip that Matt and I went on last April. Last April, Matt's parents invited us to go with them to the Florida Keys. It was amazing. (I wish I could be there right now!) I had an amazing time. I would love to go back there someday. ( I could skip going to Key West though...That wasn't very exciting.)

Beautiful Hibiscus Flower!! I'm so in love with these!! There was yellow and orange ones growing all around the house that we stayed at along with pineapple.
The house we stayed at. This thing was amazing!! Matt and I didn't actually stay in this house. ( We stayed in the guest house a few hundred feet away. Matt's parents, and there friends stayed in this house)
Beautiful sunset on the Gulf Coast.

Me Six months pregnant by the really cool mail box! ( I was obsessed by this thing. I really have no clue why though!)

Someday I hope to go back there!

Layne's First Trip to Mall of America!!

While Matt went deer hunting a week ago. My mom took Layne and I to the cities to do some shopping. This was the first "trip" Layne had actually been on. (besides going up to the cabin in Watertown.) Layne was such a good little boy while we were gone. He had a blast! We went to the Mall of America, Ikea, and Medford Outlets. Layne got to be a big boy and sit up in his stroller while we shopped at the Mall. He didn't fuss the whole time we were there. He was too busy looking around at all the people.
We ate at the Rainforest Cafe. Layne loved looking at the fish and the fake gorillas!!
Playing at the hotel!

Relaxing on the bed after a long day of shopping.

I just had to take a picture of the bathroom at the hotel. I'm totally in love with vessel style sinks and was suprised to see one in our hotel room. I just love how they look and someday would love to have one in my "dream" house.
